# Lightsage CLI

> Install the Lightsage CLI, authenticate your coding agent, and verify access.

Use the Lightsage CLI for coding agents with shell access. It is the best interface for workflows that poll, filter, or script structured output.

## Install and authenticate

```bash theme={null}
brew install lightsagehq/tools/lightsage
export LIGHTSAGE_API_KEY="ls_cli_your_api_key"
lightsage status auth-status-get --no-interactive
```

> [!TIP]
>
> Add `--no-interactive` when commands should run without prompts. Use `--output-format json` when your agent needs structured output.
