# Environments

> List reusable runtime environments from the Lightsage CLI.

An environment contains reusable environment variables for eval runs. Secret values are write-only and are never returned by the API.

## Command

| Command | Description |
| - | - |
| `lightsage environments list` | List environments. |

## List environments

```bash theme={null}
lightsage environments list --output-format json
```

The response includes environment names and metadata without exposing secret values.

Use the environment `id` when creating eval configurations:

```bash theme={null}
lightsage evals configurations create --eval-id eval_123 \
  --environment-id env_123 \
  --name "With API keys"
```
