Get your Lightsage API key

Open the Lightsage dashboard and copy your API key.Do not put your API key in shared connector docs, screenshots, issue reports, or public repositories.

Add a Perplexity connector

Add Lightsage as a custom remote MCP connector:
  1. Open Perplexity’s connector settings.
  2. Add a custom remote MCP connector.
  3. Set the server URL to https://mcp.lightsage.com/mcp.

Configure API-key auth

Choose API key authentication. Set the header name to X-Lightsage-Api-Key and the value to your Lightsage API key.If the connector UI only supports OAuth or open authentication in your workspace, it cannot connect directly to the hosted Lightsage MCP endpoint today. Use a private server-side wrapper that injects the Lightsage API key for testing.Then run a read-only prompt:
